IPTV and VoIP services in Norway and Denmark

Technicolor announced that Altibox, a provider of broadband, IPTV and VoIP services in Norway and Denmark, will deploy an Android TV JADE set-to-box (STB) solution from Technicolor’s connected home division to its customers.

« Altibox is redoubling its efforts to provide the most timely and exciting quality service to our customers. The growing popularity of streaming media, online gaming and other emerging services has had a major impact on the role of customer real estate devices (CPE) in meeting consumer demand for home connected home experiences in Norway and Denmark. That’s why Altibox has partnered with Technicolor Connected Home, the market leader in Android TV set-top box deployment, to meet these high standards, « said Tor Morten Osmundsen, CEO of Altibox.

This is the latest development in Technicolor Connected Home’s efforts to leverage open technology for network service providers (NSPs). Technicolor says its ultimate goal is to help NSP deliver seamless connectivity and premium entertainment experiences to consumers by creating top-notch CPE and partnering with the most innovative companies in the connected home ecosystem.

Technicolor is working with 3SS to meet consumer expectations in the region. 3SS has been selected by Altibox to optimize the viewing experience of its new Android IPTV service by deploying the 3READY Android TV framework, enabling them to provide subscribers with a branded custom launcher and OTT/IPTV UI. In addition, Altibox will benefit from A/B testing and unified application management control through the 3READY control center.
